THE BRIEF
Inspiring the community
Langley Design were delighted to showcase their manufacturing capabilities on the Steelworks project in Sheffield. Steelworks has developed an inspiring and supportive community, with unrivalled facilities and amenities, that empowers students to forge their own futures and reach their full potential.
Street Furniture products were where Langley started back in 1996 and since then we have grown to be leading providers for Street Furniture, Cycle shelters, Canopies, Sedum stores and pre cast concrete.
WHAT WE DID
Recycled plastic
Although we are famed for our Timber products it was a different material that was selected by the client on this project. Utilising our Langley and Sheldon ranges of products we combined the Galvanised and Powder coated Steel frames to include for Recycled Plastic slats.
THE RESULT
A modern look and feel
The Black slats against the grey metal work really “pop” and gives a really modern look and feel to the development, the curved benches sit up against the landscaping which protects the plants from student footfall. We also produced some seats for the students to rest against alongside some picnic tables which are being utilised as outdoor desks across the site.
Recycled plastic is a fantastic material as it wont split or rot and it will last the lifetime of the project with little to no maintenance.
