WHAT WE DID

Working in collaboration

Langley Design worked in collaboration with Bowmer + Kirkland, a regular customer of ours, playing a pivotal role in shaping the project’s public spaces to meet the highest standards of sustainability, aesthetics, and functionality. Bowmer + Kirkland approached Langley Design to provide an outdoor shelter in the new communal areas as well as various seating around the site. These items were required to harmonize with the natural surroundings, support plant life, and provide a welcoming environment for the people working at or visiting the wind farm.

THE RESULT

The shelter was built out of Sustainable FSC Hardwood Iroko to give a premium finish and included mesh panels to be used as climbing walls for future plant life. The bespoke designed picnic tables and benches were made in liaison with the contractor and architect’s requirements, again in Iroko, with powder-coated galvanised steel legs to match structures and facades already on site.

The use of Hardwood timber on new developments not only reduces carbon by storing CO2 from the air, but being a durable and hardwearing material also lessens the need for frequent replacements, in line with the principles of a circular economy.
