Global Institute for Safe Autonomy, University of York
Langley Design were excited to be given the opportunity to work with Tilbury Douglas, with whom we have had a long-standing relationship, on the new flagship research facility. The state-of-the-art £12million workspace can accommodate up to 100 people, with a rooftop lab and specialist robotics equipment for design & testing purposes, allowing the institute to lead the way into the new AI era.
Taking advantage of the flexibility of our Sheldon curved benches and seats (SBN307/SST312), which can be manufactured to any size, we provided bespoke seating arrangements to various diameters and lengths to integrate into the hard landscaped areas seamlessly. Having chosen the beautiful and naturally durable Hardwood Iroko & a colour co-ordinated powder coat finish throughout the project has created a uniformed and luxurious look. To finish off the areas perfectly, we provided custom-made stools in the same style, to provide the Institute’s users with both additional seating space or a place to offload their bags and relax during their free time.
