Brighton Girls School, Brighton
Brighton Girls School is an independent day school for girls aged 4-18 and has expanded from being a very small school for less than 20 pupils to its present size of 600 students. Working with Neilcott Construction, Langley Design reviewed the requirements on the project and put forward a solution for the two different canopies that were needed on the scheme. Using our bespoke design, manufacture and installation capabilities we were able to offer the customer a one stop shop to achieve their desired outcome. Given the historic nature of the project, we wanted to make sure that the canopies worked in the exterior areas of the redeveloped Old Vicarage Building. The canopies offer a multipurpose solution for the Girls School. The units offer covered play space, outdoor teaching and even outdoor dining in all weathers. The canopies are unique here in that they combine a plethora of materials to create an aesthetically pleasing visual. The galvanised metal is softened by the TRC4 structure which is then clad in the beautiful larch before being covered by a clear multiwall polycarbonate roof which allows the light to shine through.
