THE BRIEF

A commitment to sustainability and a welcoming landscape were at the core of the design vision for the hospital’s new development.

WHAT WE DID

The large, steel frame Sheldon Cycle Shelter was galvanised and powder coated in RAL7043 and offers outstanding all-weather protection.

The sedum roof, which spans the length of the entire shelter, promotes biodiversity which supports the project’s sustainability aims.

Designed for convenience, the open-sided cycle shelter offers plenty of parking. It can accommodate 24 bicycles on semi vertical cycle racks catering for the growing number of individuals opting for cycling as a sustainable and healthy means of transport. The expanded capacity ensures that there are ample spaces for cyclists, reducing the inconvenience of overcrowding.

The bin storage facility was designed as a lockable mesh panel enclosure with double gates to provide secure storage for 5 euro bins.

The mesh design provides a visually appealing solution for the bin storage and good ventilation and better airflow for the waste storage areas.
