Fujifilm, Billingham
Langley Design were delighted to work with Willmott Dixon on this £43 million office block expansion project in Billingham. As the leading UK manufacturer of timber shelters, we were happy to be specified by Ryder Architecture for this large timber enclosed cycle shelter. The enclosed cycle shelter allows the residents of the state-of-the-art three-storey office block to store their bicycles securely. We were also responsible for the manufacture and installation of the bin store and smoking shelter to the site. Each of the designs followed the same construction materials to create a stunning aesthetic across the site, the matching smoking shelter provided an outdoor covered area for office workers. All of these units had the added benefit of being provided with sedum roofs. A green roof has many benefits at economic, ecological and societal levels. A green roof provides a rainwater buffer, purifies the air, reduces the ambient temperature, regulates the indoor temperature, saves energy and encourages biodiversity in the city. Green roofs are part of climate-proof construction. Willmott Dixon were extremely pleased with the end result and we look forward to working with them on the next project.
