Stowupland High School, Ipswich
Langley Design were approached by Architects at Concertus to provide our cycle shelter expertise to ensure the new multi-million pound sixth form centre at Stowupland High School, Ipswich had a shelter which effortlessly blended in with the new building whilst still being practical and allowing the required amount of bikes to be covered.
From start to finish, we worked closely with all parties involved, to give solutions and options, allowing everyone to get exactly what they wanted. SEH French, the main contractor on this project and the school, chose a partially enclosed SCS315, with cladding on 3no. sides and an open front, it gives the right amount of protection to the bikes whilst still being easy to access for pupils in a rush to get to class on time!
A final added touch to this impressive shelter, was a classy black stain which was applied onto the class 4 treated redwood. This matched up to the external finishes on the building, such as the door barriers and guttering, which tied everything up perfectly.
