Sir Frederick Gibberd College, Essex
Langley Design worked with Caledonian Modular on the brand new £29 million Sir Frederick Gibberd College in Essex. The new school provides a solution to the critical shortage of school places by offering 1,200 secondary school and 500 sixth form spaces. We manufactured and installed cycle shelters, cycle racks and door barriers for this new secondary school. The cycle shelters were made in Douglas Fir with a galvanised finish and are double width in order to cover two runs of cycle hoops allowing more bikes to be protected. The Douglas Fir timber was chosen as the lighter colour complements the cladding to the new building. The door barriers and cycle hoops were also powder coated to tie in with the school’s colour scheme.
