Olive School, Preston
The Olive School, Preston, was in urgent need of a new school before their temporary lease expired. Spatial Initiative brought the benefits of Modern Methods of Construction to provide a new 420- pupil school. In addition to the challenge of a tight programme, their team was faced with the unprecedented challenge of a global pandemic including a series of national and local lockdowns and a need for enhanced health & safety procedures during manufacturing and installation. Langley Design were able to support Spatial Initiative in delivering this incredible school by manufacturing and installing a wide range of our own street furniture products.
A timber and steel specialist, Langley were able to combine their Malford and Sheldon ranges to provide a full suite of requirements, We manufactured Galvanised and Powder coated Steel canopies to offer external, covered teaching spaces outside the classrooms. Using two different designs, the cycle shelters were also produced in Galvanised Steel and offered both double and single row of parking. The double width stores are a great way of storing more bikes without compromising on space.
The Sheldon range which consists of timber products, was then used to complete the school with planters, picnic tables, benches, a story telling chair and a circular table with cube seating for the smaller children.
