Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and has a capacity for almost 2,000 pupils. Langley Design were approached by Wates Construction to provide a range of street furniture for the school. As one of the most esteemed UK street furniture manufacturers, Langley were tasked with providing a whole range of street furniture and canopy products to this incredible scheme. We were able to offer such a mix of products , from timber canopies to galvanised and powder-coated cycle shelters and even a secure tensile canopy. The design quality t hat went into this project was first class, it allowed us to flex all of our design capabilities. Given the requirement across the site, we managed to create 2 brand new products that will be added to the Langley Design product range. Firstly we designed, manufactured and installed a roller shutter door tensile canopy. This product allows the school to offer a covered outdoor teaching and learning area whilst having the security to roll up and lock up at the end of the day. Next up was the Gullwing style cycle shelter, t his cantilevered design allows two runs of bike racks to be covered without the need for 4 legs per bay. This high quality and high spec design adds a stunning visual to the site. Finally, a speciality of Langley Design, 2 huge outdoor timber canopies were also provided by us on this scheme. Our timber canopies offer so many different benefits and the Grove Academy are utilising all of them, from outdoor teaching, external dining, socialising and simply a covered area for pupils to congregate under in incremental weather.
