Falmouth Heights Student Accommodation now known as Carrick View was a new student residence which opened in September 2021. It’s located just a ten-minute walk from Falmouth town centre and is only a fifteen minute walk from Falmouth Campus. With all student residencies Cycle Parking is imperative to the project and as the leading manufacturer in the UK for Timber bike parking Langley Design were once again chosen to provide a range of shelters to accommodate the growing demands. There were a total of 4 shelters on the scheme. In the rear courtyard we were able to provide both a single width store which provided enough spaces for 16 bikes and another store which was slightly wider that allowed 40 bikes to be stored. A smaller bike shelter was also provided outside the front of the flats to allow even more parking.
Timber bike shelters are a great way to offer covered cycle parking whilst also offering much better environmental credentials when compared to the traditional steel units which appear around the UK. The Timber is PEFC certified and with all of Langley Design units having wind and snow loadings as standard customers are assured they are getting high quality, well designed and structurally sound units whilst also offering the end user a much more pleasing aesthetic.
