Discovery Academy, Sheffield
Langley Design have built a strong relationship with Tilbury Douglas over many years and when we were asked to work with them on Discovery Academy, we jumped at the opportunity to do so again. The new 80-place special free school is run by the award-winning Nexus Multi Academy Trust and offers education and support for children with autism spectrum disorder & social, emotional, and mental health needs within Sheffield.
An area was needed where pupils could shelter from the elements and still enjoy the outdoor space. Our Sheldon SPG326 canopy was an ideal solution, with its large clear internal span it maximises the useable space underneath. The non-fragile roofing also comes in a variety of eye-catching colours that creates a beautiful visual to the surrounding area as the light passes through the polycarbonate. In order to ensure minimal upkeep our recycled plastic seats (Sheldon SST303) were perfect to create resting places for the children and teachers alike. We finally provided those last essential elements to complete the project, our Malford Door Barriers and Bollards, available in a range of finishes and styles to suit every project.
