Caldicot School, Monmouthshire
Caldicot School is a new £40 million coeducational secondary school in Monmouth, South Wales with around 1,300 pupils. The school was part of the 21st Century Schools Programme and opened its doors in 2017 but with construction continuing though until 2019. Langley Design were asked by Interserve to come up with external furniture ideas that would enable the School to have benches, seats and picnic tables in its new courtyard and landscaped areas. Having been chosen by Interserve to work on the Swallow Hill Leeds project in 2009, Langley Design knew the amazing benefits of using recycled plastic. With the shift in focus to Eco Friendly products, Langley put forward a whole range of recycled plastic products alongside a case study from the Swallow Hill development. When we returned to the Leeds site 7 years later, the products had not damaged or deteriorated at all and Interserve were amazed by the quality and durability of these. Having that experience under our belt enabled us to be chosen to supply, deliver and install the black slatted version of these products which are made from 100% recycled materials. These simple yet stylish products will still look as good as new in many years to come.
